Orhan R. Abbasov was born in 1980.
In 1998, he entered the faculty of "Geological exploration" in Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, which completed in 2002 and received a bachelor's degree.
In 2002, he entered the master department of the same faculty, in the specialty of "Petroleum geologists” and graduated with honors in 2004.
In 2004, he entered PhD courses at the department of "Mud volcanism" in Institute of Geology (now Geology and Geophysics) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
In 2008, he fulfilled the thesis on the topic "The distribution of oil shale in the Paleogene-Miocene deposits in Gobustan", received Ph.D. in geology and mineralogy.
He is currently working as a leading scientific researcher at "Mud volcanism" Department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
In 2013, he was elected chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics. At the same time, he is an advisor to the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
He is single.
