Lyceum named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva opened science nook by joint organization of ANAS Department of Earth Sciences and Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS on December 29.

This project, which aims to support the development of skills of adolescents and young people in science and technology and encouraging their initiatives, is implemented on the basis of the recommendations of the president of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Earth Sciences Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov thanked the leadership of the Lyceum named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva on behalf of the Presidium for organizing the meeting with well-known scientists of the Academy students.

Academician said that, the establishment of science nook at the Lyceum reflecting the activities of the Department of Earth Sciences was one of the factors that serving the development of science; students were able to gather in the science nooks and lead discussions around scientific themes.

At the event, chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS, PhD in physics Famin Salmanov, noted that this project is not the first activities undertaken by the Council in the educational institutions.

Director of the Lyceum, PhD in Philology Mehriban Aliyeva expressed gratitude to the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh for the cooperation which has been established between the Lyceum named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva and ANAS.
