On February 2, ceremony of awarding talented and creative youth on the occasion of the Youth Day was held at Nizami Cinema Center.

Ceremony was attended by MPs, social-political dignity of Azerbaijan, youth distinguished in various fields and mass media.

In advance, video reflecting Azerbaijan youth was displayed.

Minister of AR Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said that, being a logic result of the state youth policy, founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev and is resolutely implemented today, Azerbaijan youth celebrate their holiday in every part of the country at the high level.

Making speech on taken measures in the field of youth led by President Ilham Aliyev, A.Rahimov stated the significant role of volunteers during preparation process and competitions of 1st Baku-2015 European Games. Minister also drew attention to the meeting of the President with a group of youth several days ago.

He brought to mind that, as a result of Ilham Aliyev’s care state youth policy is successfully enriched and intensified.

Then, people honored the Presidential Award for the Youth. Those having high points in various events implemented as key directions of youth policy were nominated the "Youth Award" by The Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Later on, “The youth capital” of Azerbaijan for 2016 was announced. According to the results of voting at www.genclerpaytaxti.az, city of Shamkir has been elected “The youth capital” of Azerbaijan for 2016.
