Each year, one scientist from the basic sciences, including engineering, medicine, social sciences and humanities, is awarded with academic honors of TÜBA.

The names of candidates for the award are nominated by members of TÜBA, inter academy organizations cooperating with TÜBA, and other academic institutions. TÜBA members and scientists involved in the awarding may not be nominated.

Nominees in each category are evaluated by Awards Committee. Works of candidates reviewed by a committee of TÜBA members and renowned scientists, with the involvement of experts are determined the potential winner for the award. Winners are announced by the Academic Council TÜBA. Academic Medal and academic awards, consisting of a cash prize in the amount of US $ 30 000, awarded in a special ceremony.

Candidates for the Academy Award this year, may be nomianted before the August 16, 2015. Winners will be announced before the end of November. The award ceremony will be held in the first quarter in December 2015.

Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is invited to nominate famous scientist, who is the author of the original and fundamental works, for the Academy Award. This requires the full form of the candidate’s CV and a letter supporting a candidacy for the competition awards.
